Hey guys,
Update from Glennellen! Well, it's been a VERY long time since Erin or I have done any posting on here. So, here I am! :)

So just a quick update- this past spring, I got a second chance to be in the stage version of High School Musical. It was performed at South Bladwin Community Theatre. I LANDED THE ROLE OF SHARPAY! Okay, those costumes had be some of the most fun wardrobe pieces I've ever had in a production I've done (but gosh- those costume changes were TOUGH!)

The entire cast was amazing. Like family:)) I made new friends, reconnecting with old, and even grew closer to some I already knew. Basically- we had our own High School Musical. It had heart, energy, and lots of wonderful young talent.

I'll post pics from it soon.
Love you guys! <3

All Through The House at SBCT!

Hey girls!
Here's an update from Glennellen on the latest play I'm in at the moment! At South Baldwin Community Theatre, the show All Through the House will be taking place for the Christmas season. I'm playing Nora Garret, the dramatic daughter of William Garret. My friend Ryan Williams and I are the only teenagers in the show, and we get the chance to be a part of the production alongside seven other amazingly talented adults. All in all...it's a great show!

Showdates are: December 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, and 13. Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30pm, and Sunday performances at 2:00pm.

Please come and see All Through the House! It truly gets you into the Christmas spirit. :)

Sound of Music...I Made It!

Hey everyone!
I have great, great news...I have been cast as Liesl in the SBCT production of The Sound of Music! It will be directed by Mr. James Keith Posey, the music director of the First Baptist Church of Gulf Shores. Words can't express how thankful and excited I am!!

The audition went great. I sang "Over the Rainbow" as my tryout song and even had the pianist accompany me (her name is Ms. Jackie, and she was there in case anyone brought sheet music). After that, he asked me if I would mind singing "Sixteen Going On Seventeen" for him! I knew it had to be a good sign, and that it meant he was considering me for the role of Liesl. I sang the song, and his words to me were, "Thank you. You have a very beautiful voice." It made my heart race so fast! He then asked for my height, if I could dance, etc. I then got to read for Liesl after that four times!!

At first, when the casting calls started coming around, I thought I hadn't made it. My friend Bailey called me to say that she had recieved the role of Louisa, and my friend Ryan told me on facebook that he had recieved the part of Fredrich and his younger brother Andrew was Kirt...all on the same day. I had heard nothing. For the first time in a long time, I didn't understand what God's plan was for me, and these results made me sadder than the results for HSM at PLT. The next day, we were headed directly out the door to head to the library when the phone all of a sudden rang...it was the director. I knew that he was probably going to offer me a part of a nun or novice, so I prepared myself when I answered the phone. To my surprise, his words were, "I was wondering if you would be interested in playing the role of Liesl?" I nearly screamed with joy and interrupted him, lol! I told him thank you over and over, and that I'd be at rehearsals.

What's amazing is that he called just after we had agreed to help out in the play Shoes Blues an hour or two before he called. They needed two more people in that play, so Paden and I volunteered to help the director, Ms Joyce. God had wished for us to help out with the play before getting the call for Sound of Music, and we realized this after it happened. You see, we wouldn't have done it if he had called earlier because we would have been occupied only with Sound of Music. But now, I get to play Liesl Von Trapp, and Margaret the Mauler (a fun biker girl) in Shoes Blues. And Paden gets to be the Captain in Shoes Blues, too. Amazing how God shows you His plan, isn't it? =)

Sorry we kept repeating ourselves at times in the intro, we had been trying to get this right sooo many times and were freaked out about it messing up again, lol! Hope you like the song!!

Hi everyone!

Hey everyone! So here's a quick little post to get the blood pumping. I'm coming back (finally) to Alabama on July 11! I so can't wait to be home. When I get there, I will be teching for High School Musical. (I wish Glenn was in it so we could hang out every day. Tear, sniff.) I'm going to be stealing Glenn's voice teacher. Well, her teacher is going to teach me for 4-6 weeks, and then we will see if we connect. If we do, she will continue teaching me. New subject. In September I will be trying out for The Sound of Music. (Not the one that Glenn tried out for.) So besides that, nothing else is new. Byaaaa! (Pronounced bye-ya.)

High School Musical (maybe next time!)

Okay everyone,
So I didn't get the part I wanted in Pensacola Little Theatre's production of High School Musical. But it's okay, because God has something else in store for me this summer! Just recently, I auditioned for The Sound of Music. It will be directed by the music director at Gulf Shores United Methodist Church and be performed at South Baldwin Community Theatre. And I even got to do the amazingly fun drama camp at SBCT! I went last year as well, and it was great to catch up with everyone for the summer :)

Not that there isn't any good news about HSM auditions, actually. They had 200 people try out in total (whoa!). Only 20 people were accepted...including ensemble! :o They called to offer me ensemble, and we made sure to tell them how thankful we were for such an opportunity, but that it was just too far a drive for such a small role. They told us that they completely understood, which was a blessing.

And here's another plus...I got to stay home and watch the season finale of American Idol this year instead of missing it and having to go to callbacks! lol!

Waiting 4 Possible Callbacks

Hey everyone!

My audition yesterday went absolutely wonderful! We only had to do singing and dancing...acting/reading is required for callbacks. As far as singing goes, I was the first one to go up without bringing the music sheet with me! I made eye contact with the director and the other members of the main crew, and they smiled at me. I also did hand motions to give the song feeling. It went grrreat!

As for the dancing...oh my gosh. You had to learn this routine that took about a minute (that is consisited of some difficult moves, I may add) in TEN MINS! then come back down a perform it. I kept praying that I'd get it down and told myself to not stress and just go with it. And guess what? IT WENT FANTASTIC! I got everything down and proved to them that I can sing AND dance. All thanks to God, who was by my side the whole night. :) Pray that I get a callback or maybe even immediately casted!
